Dubai Fly Screens began in 2017 with a simple frustration: homes here were sealed shut for half the year, because the moment a window went up the mosquitoes and flies came in.
The fixes around at the time were not great. Cheap nets sagged and yellowed within a season. Drilled-in frames left holes a landlord would notice. Most of it was bought off a shelf and cut down to roughly fit, which meant gaps at the edges and bugs straight through them. We thought a screen should do better than that.
So we started small, making each screen to the exact size of the opening it had to cover and fixing it on with tape so the frame was never marked. Word travelled, one villa told a neighbour, and the work grew from there. Years on, the approach has not changed, only the number of homes it has been into.
What has stayed constant is the care over the small things: a frame colour matched to the joinery, a mesh shade that keeps the view, an edge that seals with no gap for a mosquito to find. Those details are easy to skip on a busy job, and skipping them is exactly what we set out not to do.
We have never advertised much, and we have never needed to. The first few homes led to a few more, those led to a street, and before long we were turning up in communities we had never been to because someone there had seen our work next door. That is a slow way to build, and it is the only way we know how.

One team, start to finish
From the knock on the door to the last screen pressed home, it is the same small team the whole way. No subcontractors, no handovers.
The same people who measure your openings are the ones who build the screens and come back to fit them. That keeps things straight: nothing is lost between a salesperson and a fitter, and if you have a question on the day, the person answering it is the one who took the measurements.
Screens are made up at our place in Deira and brought to the home ready, so fitting is quick and clean. Most openings take a quarter of an hour, with nothing drilled and nothing to clear away. Before we leave, every screen is checked to be sure it runs, closes and seals as it should.
That join-up matters more than it sounds. When the measurer, the maker and the fitter are the same hands, a tricky opening gets solved once rather than passed around, and the screen that turns up is the one the opening actually needs. It is slower to run a business this way, and it is the reason the work holds up.
From one villa to 1,200 homes

Where it began
We set up to bring proper made-to-measure screens to UAE homes, tired of the sagging nets and drilled frames that were the norm. The first jobs were single villas, one opening at a time.
Tape, not screws
Early on we settled on fixing screens with strong tape instead of drilling, so frames were never marked. It made us the easy choice for renters, and it is still how nearly every screen goes up.
Three systems, not one
To suit every opening, we brought in German, Italian and Turkish systems rather than tying ourselves to a single supplier. It let us put the right mechanism on each window and door instead of a compromise.
Across four emirates
More than 1,200 homes on, the work now reaches every emirate from Ajman up to Abu Dhabi, still run by a small team, and still measuring every opening for free before a screen is made.
What goes into a screen
A screen in the UAE has a hard life: months of heat, hard sun and salt in the air near the coast. What we put into one is chosen for that, not for a showroom.
The frames are aluminium, light to handle but stiff enough to hold their shape across a wide opening, and they can be powder-coated to almost any colour, including a match to your windows. The netting is fine fibreglass or polyester woven in Italian and European mills, the kind that keeps its colour and tension where a cheap net goes slack and yellow inside a year.
For the systems that move, the rollers, the magnets, the pleated tracks, we work across German, Italian and Turkish hardware rather than one supplier. That is unusual here, and it is deliberate, because it lets us put the mechanism that suits a given opening on it instead of bending every job to the one system we happen to stock.
Assembly happens at our Deira workshop, with the parts put together for UAE homes, down to the tape, which is picked to keep its grip through a Dubai summer and still peel away clean years later. It is not the cheapest way to build a screen. It is the way that lasts.
More than keeping bugs out
A screen sounds like a small thing. In a home open to the UAE outdoors, it changes how the place feels and a little more besides.
Most of why people call us is comfort. They want the cooler mornings and the spring evenings, the window open while they sleep, the garden door wide while the children play, without the room filling with mosquitoes. A screen gives that back, and once it is up most people forget it is there, which is rather the idea.
There is a health side too, and it is part of why we take the work seriously. Mosquitoes carry a fair share of what the World Health Organization tracks, the wide group of vector-borne disease and dengue among it. Screening a window or a door is a quiet, lasting guard against the bites that carry it, which matters most in homes with young children.
None of that needs spelling out to most of the families we fit for. They just want the windows open and the children sleeping, and the screen to do its job without being thought about again. That is the bar we hold ourselves to: a screen you notice only by what never gets in.
Who you actually deal with
We have stayed a small, hands-on outfit on purpose. When you call, you reach the people who do the work, not a call centre reading from a script.
Being small keeps us honest. There is no chain of staff to pass the blame along, so if a measurement is off or a screen is not right, it is on us to put it straight, and we do. It also means the advice you get is from someone who has fitted thousands of these, not a quota to hit.
One number reaches us for everything, a quote, a question or a repair, on a call or over WhatsApp. We answer quickly, in plain terms, and we would rather talk you out of a screen you do not need than sell you one you will not use.
That habit has done more for us than any advert. Most of our work now comes from people passing our number to a neighbour or a relative, which only happens when the last job was done right and the price was what we said it would be. We would rather grow slowly that way than chase every lead.
The homes we end up in
Over the years a pattern has formed in who calls us, and it shapes how we work as much as the screens themselves do.
Most of our work, roughly three homes in four, is villas. A villa simply has more to screen: ground-floor windows onto the garden, tall patio doors, a back door always on the go, sometimes a majlis or a terrace as well. We have fitted across the Emaar communities, The Springs and The Meadows, Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills and plenty more, and a big villa can be a full day of work, opening by opening.
The rest is apartments, where the job is usually a balcony door and a window or two, and where the no-drill fitting earns its keep most of all. A tenant can have screens put up and taken down again at the end of a lease with nothing to make good and no deposit at risk, which is why so many renters come to us once they hear screens need not mean holes.
Behind both, the people are much the same: families who want the windows open and the bugs out, parents of young children, anyone who likes to sleep with the night air coming in. We have learned to listen for how a home is actually lived in before we suggest a screen, because the right answer for a quiet spare room is rarely the right one for a door the children run through all day.

We make fly screens for windows and doors in every form, from retractable and magnetic to sliding and pleated. The very same product goes by other names people search for, so a mosquito net, a sheet of mosquito mesh and an insect screen all describe what we fit. Whichever word you land on, the screen behind it is the same one, cut to your opening and fixed without a drill.

Made to measure, not made dear
People often assume that a screen built to the opening must cost a fortune. It is one of the first things we put right.
Custom does not have to mean costly. A fixed screen starts at a few hundred dirhams, and most windows and doors land well within what people expect to pay for something off a shelf, except this one actually fits. Because every job is priced opening by opening at the free visit, you see the whole figure before you commit to anything, with no surprise added at the end.
We will never tell you a rival is simply cheaper, because price on its own says little. What we will do is be plain about what a screen costs, why it costs that, and where you could spend less or more. And when a screen wears years later, mending or re-meshing it almost always beats buying new, which keeps the long-run cost down as well. That openness is part of the deal, the same as the free measure and the no-drill fit. It is the sort of thing you only really notice after dealing with someone who did the opposite, and we hear exactly that from new customers more often than we would like.

Dubai Fly Screens started in 2017. Since then we have fitted made-to-measure insect screens and mosquito nets in more than 1,200 homes across the UAE. That time has taught us almost every window and door type in the country, from compact apartment frames to wide villa openings, and the systems that suit each one.
We are based on 28C Street in Deira, Dubai, where the screens are made up, and we work out to homes right across the Emirates. Most of our jobs are in Dubai, but we travel for the free measure to wherever you are, including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman.

Both. New screens are most of our work, but we also repair and re-mesh screens that are already up, including ones we did not make. A torn mesh, a dropped track or a worn roller is often put right for far less than a new screen. The call-out for a repair is free, so a photo over WhatsApp is usually enough to start.

Every screen carries five years of cover on the aluminium frame and one year on the mesh. We pick the frames and the Italian and European mesh and mechanisms to keep working through years of daily use in the UAE climate, and if anything covered goes wrong in that time we put it right. Repairs and re-mesh are there beyond the guarantee as well.
